“Hariyalo Rajasthan” Campaign: Plant a Tree on Your Birthday and Care for It Like a Mother for 3 Years – Minister Sanjay Sharma

Jaipur, Aug 2025 : Under the “Hariyalo Rajasthan” campaign, 1,111 saplings were planted in Karad village, located in the Dantaramgarh subdivision of Sikar district, through an event organized by Ugam Sansthan Rajasthan. On this occasion, the district-in-charge minister, Shri Sanjay Sharma, participated in the plantation drive along with public representatives and officials.

Shri Sharma stated that inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “One Tree in Mother’s Name” campaign, intensive plantation efforts are being carried out in Rajasthan under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. Last year, against a target of planting 3 crore saplings, over 7.35 crore were planted and uploaded with photographs on the Government of India’s portal. This year, the target is 10 crore, and so far, 8.11 crore saplings have already been planted and uploaded on the Hariyalo Rajasthan app.

He urged everyone to plant a tree on their birthday and take care of it for three years like a mother, ensuring a greener gift for future generations. He announced that two saplings planted in a school today would have their “birthday” celebrated on 6 August 2026, which he would attend personally. He also led a pledge for water conservation and mass tree plantation among the attendees. Additionally, he planted trees in the village panchayat premises and primary health center, encouraging villagers to actively participate in conservation efforts.

Shri Sharma honored the family of late Mohan Lal Soni, a philanthropist who donated land for the Primary Health Center, acknowledging their contribution and inspiring others. He emphasized that tree plantation is essential for climate balance and future generations, which is the core aim of the ongoing campaign.

Visit to Neem Ka Thana

As part of his Neem Ka Thana visit, Minister Sharma participated in the “One Tree in Mother’s Name” plantation drive near the Sirohi River nursery. He was accompanied by Prem Singh Bajor, Chairman of the Sainik Kalyan Board, and both took part in the tree plantation.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Sharma said, “Trees play the most crucial role in environmental conservation.” He stressed that climate change is affecting not only Rajasthan but the entire world, with increasing temperature imbalances and erratic rainfall.

He shared that as per the Prime Minister’s directives, the Government of India had set a target of planting 3 crore trees for the state. In response, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma set an ambitious goal of 7 crore trees, and with the collective efforts of government departments, social organizations, philanthropists, and the public, 7.35 crore saplings were planted, setting a unique record nationwide.
