Naxalism Is in Its Final Stage; Participation of All Sections of Society Is Essential for the Last Push in the Ongoing Mega Campaign to Eliminate It – Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma

Raipur, Aug 2025 : Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Vijay Sharma, said that Naxalism is now in its final stage, and to ensure its complete eradication, the last and decisive push in the ongoing mega campaign requires the cooperation and dedication of every section of society.

He stated that, in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the state government has adopted an effective strategy to completely eliminate Naxalism by March 2026. Due to the commendable efforts and successful operations carried out by security forces and police personnel across the Bastar division, as well as the state’s attractive surrender and rehabilitation policy, Naxalism has been steadily shrinking in Bastar and Bijapur.

During his one-day visit, Shri Sharma chaired a meeting in the district office conference hall with representatives of traders’ associations, mining and road construction organizations, the All Tribal Society and Tribal Security Forum, Vanvasi Kalyan Samiti, and officers from various banks.

While reviewing ways to accelerate development projects in the interior regions and addressing elements that obstruct progress, he emphasized that the people of Bijapur can no longer be misled. “Given the pace at which public cooperation is being received for development works, the day is not far when Bijapur will move forward with peace, security, and trust, and when all basic facilities will expand here just like in the general regions,” he said.

Representatives from the business community, tribal society, and other sections of the population also shared their suggestions and expressed support for the district’s development.
