State Government to Provide 6 Months’ Ration to Affected Families: CM

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that the state government will provide ration for the next six months to all affected families. He also stated that financial assistance will be given for damaged houses in Pauri’s Sainji and Bankuda villages.

Speaking about the Dharali rescue operation, the CM said the government’s priority was to evacuate people to safe locations. Despite adverse weather conditions, more than 1,000 people, including locals and pilgrims from across the country, have been safely rescued so far. The injured have been admitted to the district hospital and AIIMS, with proper arrangements made for quality medical care.

He informed that adequate medicines, milk, ration, and clothes have been supplied to Harsil and Dharali areas. In Harsil, UREDA’s power house has been activated for electricity supply, UPCL is repairing electric wires, and mobile connectivity has been restored. Two 125 kVA generator sets have also been sent to the disaster-hit area. Road connectivity to Harsil is being restored, the Bailey bridge at Gangnani is being built rapidly, and landslide-hit roads will be repaired soon. The CM expressed hope that the road to Harsil will be fully functional by Tuesday, allowing other works to progress quickly.

He emphasized that the state government is extending all possible help to affected families. Those whose houses are completely damaged or destroyed will receive immediate financial aid of ₹5 lakh for rehabilitation or relocation. A three-member committee, headed by the Revenue Secretary, has been formed to assess damage, rehabilitation, and relocation needs. Losses to apple orchards will also be assessed.

CM Dhami added that apart from Dharali, other parts of the state have also suffered disaster damage. In Pauri’s Sainji and Bankuda villages, those with damaged houses will also receive up to ₹5 lakh in assistance. Wherever the disaster has caused harm in the state, the government will provide all possible support.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured full assistance to the state government, and the central government is extending complete cooperation under his leadership.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has made two significant announcements for the rehabilitation and relief of people affected by the recent disaster in Dharali village, Uttarkashi district. These measures reflect the state government’s sensitivity and readiness in disaster management.

₹5 Lakh Immediate Assistance for Fully Damaged Houses
The CM announced that residents of Dharali village, Bhatwari tehsil, Uttarkashi district, whose houses have been completely damaged or destroyed in the disaster, will receive immediate assistance of ₹5 lakh for rehabilitation/relocation. Additionally, the families of those who lost their lives in the disaster will also be given ₹5 lakh to provide them with financial support in this difficult time.

Formation of a Committee for Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Livelihood Strengthening
The CM also announced the formation of a three-member committee, chaired by the Secretary, Revenue, to work on the rehabilitation, overall recovery, and strengthening of sustainable livelihoods for affected villagers. This committee will submit its preliminary report to the government within a week. It will also draft a long-term and effective policy for Dharali’s future to ensure community safety and livelihood security.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government stands with every disaster-affected citizen and will provide all possible assistance. Relief and rehabilitation measures will be implemented promptly and effectively at the administrative level.
