CM Yogi leads relief efforts, assists over 6 lakh flood victims
Lucknow, Aug 2025 : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is personally overseeing relief operations in flood-affected areas, ensuring swift and effective assistance. Acting on his instructions, ministers have been making continuous visits to affected districts—over half a dozen of them have toured flood-hit regions, distributing relief material and checking on the well-being of victims.

Relief Commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami reported that floods have impacted 92 tehsils and 1,877 villages across 36 districts, affecting 6,42,913 people. Relief has been provided to all, while 84,700 cattle have been relocated to safe zones. Floods have damaged 573 houses, with financial assistance already extended to 465 families. Over 61,852 hectares of land have been affected.
Relief efforts involve 2,610 boats and motorboats delivering aid. So far, 67,169 food packets and 7,99,734 lunch packets have been distributed, with community kitchens (langars) continuing to serve meals. The government is also ensuring the safety and sustenance of cattle, having distributed 11,640 quintals of fodder. To prevent waterborne diseases, 5,83,758 chlorine tablets and 2,88,860 ORS packets have been provided.

Currently, 475 flood shelters are housing 65,437 people, all of whom are being regularly examined by 1,124 medical teams. In addition, 1,517 flood posts have been set up to maintain round-the-clock monitoring.
The 36 affected districts include Ayodhya, Bahraich, Barabanki, Basti, Kasganj, Hardoi, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Shahjahanpur, Bhadohi, Shravasti, Unnao, Farrukhabad, Meerut, Hapur, Gorakhpur, Gonda, Bijnor, Badaun, Kanpur Nagar, Lakhimpur Kheri, Agra, Auraiya, Chitrakoot, Ballia, Banda, Ghazipur, Mirzapur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Chandauli, Jalaun, Kanpur Dehat, Hamirpur, Etawah, and Fatehpur. Relief operations in all these districts are progressing at a rapid pace.
Acting on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, ministers are conducting continuous inspections of flood-affected areas, meeting victims, distributing relief materials, and assuring them that the government stands firmly by their side in this time of crisis.

In Varanasi, Minister Dayashankar Mishra ‘Dayalu’ distributed relief supplies to flood-affected residents in Kotwan Kapildhara and directed officials to maintain cleanliness in areas where floodwaters have begun to recede. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Stamp and Court Registration Fee Ravindra Jaiswal provided relief materials to victims in Sikraul ward, assuring them that the government and administration are committed to supporting them during the disaster. Beneficiaries expressed satisfaction with the assistance received from the government.
Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh visited flood-hit areas in Gonda and Bahraich, accompanied by Tarabganj MLA Prem Narayan Pandey. In the Ailiparasouli village of Tarabganj tehsil, he distributed flood relief kits. He later visited the Pachdevri village panchayat secretariat in Mahsi tehsil, Bahraich, to meet residents affected by waterlogging and erosion. He assured them that a lack of funds would never hinder relief and rescue efforts during natural calamities.
In Fatehpur, Minister Ramkesh Nishad visited the flood relief camp at Lalauli Inter College, distributing essential supplies and reviewing arrangements at the onsite medical camp.
In Prayagraj, Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ visited Boys High School to distribute relief kits to flood-affected people. He stressed that extending all possible assistance to victims is the government’s top priority and assured them that the state government and administration are with them. He also directed officials to expedite compensation for damaged crops and houses, and instructed the Health Department to ensure the availability of medicines and antivenom at PHCs and CHCs.
In Ballia, Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh distributed ration kits at the Town Hall premises, affirming the government’s commitment to ensuring that no affected person is left without relief. He emphasized that, under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath, the state government is closely monitoring the situation and providing timely aid to every needy person. He also thanked the district administration for its cooperation in managing the flood crisis.
