Photos of Tree Plantation to be Uploaded on ‘Meri Life’ Portal Under ‘Chimuklyanchi Vasundhara’ and ‘Ek Paed Maa Ke Naam’ Campaign
Mumbai : To instill the importance of environmental protection in children from an early age, the Women and Child Development Department is implementing the ‘Chimuklyanchi Vasundhara’ program from July 10 to 31. Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare has urged that photos taken during this activity should be uploaded on the Meri Life portal (https://merilife.nic.in) under the ‘Ek Paed Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, which is supported by the Children Vasundhara and the Centre.
Minister Tatkare explained that under the “Ek Paed Maa Ke Naam” campaign, sponsored by the Centre, a tree should be planted at each Anganwadi center in the name of each child, with the names of the child and their mother written on it. The child’s parents are responsible for conserving and nurturing the tree. Anganwadis across the state have been instructed to record information such as tree species, location, and date of planting at the Anganwadi level. Photos of this tree plantation program should be uploaded on the Meri Life portal.
Minister Tatkare emphasized that this initiative will promote both individual and collective actions by citizens to protect the environment. It aims to root the concept of environmental stewardship in children’s minds early on, fostering a sense of responsibility and pride in contributing to environmental protection.
