‘Police Recruitment Board’ to Ensure Smooth, Transparent and Faster Hiring: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that a ‘Madhya Pradesh Police Recruitment Board’ will be set up to ensure quick, transparent and efficient police recruitments. Currently, police recruitment is being conducted through the Staff Selection Board, which takes time. The new board will expedite recruitment, ensure transparency, and enhance efficiency.
In 2025, recruitments will be conducted by the Staff Selection Board, Bhopal, on behalf of the new Police Recruitment Board. From next year, the new board will handle all recruitments directly. The CM stated that 7,500 vacancies have been approved this year, with a total of 22,500 positions to be filled over the next three years by recruiting 7,500 personnel annually.
He also announced that widows and children of martyrs from the Police, Jail, and Civic Security departments will be given a reservation in an additional seat in all undergraduate courses under various priority categories. Additionally, Deputy Superintendents of Police and above, along with security personnel deployed on VVIP duty, will receive special and risk allowances under the Sixth Pay Commission.
CM Dr. Yadav assured that all pending issues related to modernisation and recruitment in the Home Department will soon be resolved in a joint meeting of the Home and Finance Departments.
Speaking at the state-level Independence Day medal distribution ceremony at the CM’s official residence, CM Dr. Yadav met and felicitated all medal-winning officers, employees, and their families. He praised their discipline, obedience, and dedication as the hallmarks of uniformed services, stating that their exceptional service not only honors their department but also brings pride to Madhya Pradesh.
CM Dr. Yadav reaffirmed the government’s full support for the modernisation of the Police, Jail and Civic Security departments, pledging no compromise in resources. He also urged officers to balance professional duties with family time and personal health, thereby contributing to the creation of a healthy and progressive society. He expressed the government’s determination to make Madhya Pradesh free from Naxalism by March 2026, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav commended the police for their success in operations against dacoits, Naxalites, cyber fraud, illegal arms, cow smuggling, and anti-social elements, as well as for initiatives like ‘Operation Srijan’ and anti-drug campaigns. He highlighted welfare measures such as the inauguration of a police hospital, the establishment of the Disha Learning Center, and Rs. 1 crore ex gratia for families of martyred police personnel.
In his welcome address, DGP Kailash Makwana informed that under the CM’s leadership, police services are being strengthened with human and technological resources. He mentioned the launch of Dial-112 as an emergency service on August 14 and the effective implementation of new criminal laws. Initiatives like the anti-drug awareness campaign ‘Nashe Se Door Rehna Hai Zaroori’ have shown positive results.
Additional Chief Secretary (Home) J.N. Kansotia, DGP (Prisons) Varun Kapoor, senior officials, medal winners and their families were present during the event. The ceremony began with a welcome tune by the police band and the waving of the ‘Tricolor’ by families, followed by cultural programs.
On Independence Day, 65 officers and employees were honored including —12 with Police Gallantry Medals, 8 with President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, 3 from Jail, Civic Service, and Civic Security with Distinguished Service Medals, 32 police officers with the Police Medal for Meritorious Service, 5 from Jail Police with the Police Medal for Meritorious Service and 8 from Civic Service and Civic Security with the Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
