  • On Janmashtami, CM Yogi calls for following the path of Dharma and working for national welfare

Mathura, Aug 2025 : On the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura and addressed devotees who had gathered from across India and abroad. Calling on people to walk the path of Dharma shown by Lord Krishna, he underlined the importance of working for public good and national well-being. He also stressed the need to protect the heritage of Sanatan Dharma while balancing it with modern development, highlighting his government’s achievements in this direction.

Message of Unity and Nationalism from Krishna Janmabhoomi

Arriving at the Janmabhoomi around 11:50 a.m., CM Yogi first offered prayers at the temples of Thakur Kesavdev and Mata Yogmaya, followed by rituals at the sanctum sanctorum. After visiting the Bhagwat Bhavan, he addressed the gathering of devotees with chants of “Vrindavan Bihari Lal ki Jai” and “Jai Shri Radhe”, which echoed across the premises. Conveying greetings on the 5,252nd birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, he said that Brajbhumi is the sacred land of Lord Vishnu’s complete incarnation, and that Uttar Pradesh is blessed to have witnessed the incarnations of many deities—from Ayodhya to Mathura, symbols of India’s spiritual heritage.

Emphasis on Development under Double-Engine Government

The CM said he had been fortunate for the past eight to nine years to participate in Janmashtami and Barsana’s Holi festival. He reiterated his government’s resolve to re-establish places like Mathura, Vrindavan, Barsana, Gokul, Baldev, Govardhan, and Radha Kund as prominent pilgrimage sites. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, he said, the “double-engine government” is committed to preserving spiritual heritage while ensuring modern facilities for devotees. Citing projects like the Kashi Vishwanath Dham corridor and the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, he said Uttar Pradesh is setting new benchmarks of spiritual and modern development.

Cow Protection and Social Unity

Highlighting the importance of cow protection, CM Yogi said that Gau Mata is among the revered symbols of Sanatan Dharma. His government, he said, is working to safeguard stray cattle and provides ₹1,500 per month to farmers engaged in cow rearing. Over 1.6 million cattle are currently under protection. He urged people to beware of divisive tendencies based on caste, region, or language, and emphasized the duty to respect soldiers guarding India’s borders while strengthening social unity. “As long as the flag of Sanatan Dharma guides the world, the spirit of universal brotherhood, peace, and harmony will remain,” he said.

Reaffirming the Panch Pran

The Chief Minister invoked the Prime Minister’s call for Panch Pran—eradicating remnants of slavery, embracing swadeshi, protecting heritage, honoring soldiers, and working for social unity. Citing the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath Dham, and the ongoing Vindhyavasini Dham corridor, he said these projects have revived India’s cultural and spiritual legacy.

Role of Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad

Praising the efforts of the Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad, CM Yogi said the council, under the guidance of elected representatives, is taking the region to new heights of development. He emphasized the responsibility of linking India’s 5,000-year-old spiritual legacy with modern progress, while cautioning people against forces that try to weaken the nation.

Honoring the Symbols of Sanatan Dharma

In conclusion, the CM stressed respect for Sanatan Dharma’s sacred symbols—Ganga, Yamuna, Gau Mata, Gayatri, and holy pilgrimage sites—calling them essential parts of India’s identity. Extending his greetings once more on Janmashtami, he joined the devotees in chanting “Shri Keshav Dev Maharaj ki Jai,” “Shri Krishna Kanhaiya ki Jai,” “Shri Radhe Rani ki Jai,” “Shri Yamuna Maiya ki Jai,” and “Bharat Mata ki Jai.”
