Gaza Struck by Tragedy: 14 Palestinians Killed in Khan Younis Attack

GAZA – On Monday morning, a series of Israeli airstrikes in Khan Younis, a city in the southern Gaza Strip, resulted in the deaths of at least 14 Palestinians, including six children and four women. Additionally, 36 others sustained injuries during the attacks, as reported by Gaza-based health authorities.

The Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis has urgently appealed to the local population to donate blood. The health authorities emphasized the critical need for blood units to aid the wounded and sick in the medical facility, highlighting a severe shortage.

Israeli warplanes conducted a heavy bombardment on the eastern neighborhoods of Khan Younis following immediate evacuation orders. This led to mass displacement of residents toward the western parts of the city, particularly Al-Mawasi, according to the Palestinian official news agency WAFA.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released a statement on Monday morning declaring their intent to “forcefully operate against terrorist organizations.” The IDF urged the remaining population in the eastern neighborhoods of Khan Younis to evacuate temporarily to the designated Humanitarian Area in Al-Mawasi. The evacuation orders were communicated through SMS, phone calls, and media broadcasts in Arabic.

The ongoing conflict has taken a significant toll on the Palestinian population. The Gaza-based health authorities reported that the Palestinian death toll from continuous Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip has risen to 38,983 as of Sunday.
