Jalgaon Industries to Receive Concessions Similar to Marathwada and Vidarbha; Orders for Damage Assessment After Heavy Rainfall
Jalgaon, Aug 2025 : “Whenever we visit a district, we review the works carried out under District Planning. Today, I reviewed the works in Jalgaon district, and I must say, significant progress has been made in important sectors. I particularly appreciate the efforts of Guardian Minister Gulabrao Patil, all district ministers, and the administration. In the upcoming state budget, Jalgaon will definitely be given increased financial allocation,” said Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
He was addressing a review meeting held at the Planning Bhavan. Present on the occasion were Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan, Guardian Minister Gulabrao Patil, Textiles Minister Sanjay Sawkare, Sports Minister Manikrao Kokate, MP Smita Wagh, MLAs Anil Bhaidas Patil, Suresh Bhole, Kishore Patil, Chandrakant Sonawane, Amol Patil, Amol Jawale, District Collector Ayush Prasad, Superintendent of Police Dr. Maheshwar Reddy, ZP CEO Minal Karanwal, and District Planning Officer Vijay Shinde.
Deputy CM Pawar assured that industries in Jalgaon will receive the same concessions as those in Vidarbha, Marathwada, and the Dhule-Nandurbar belt, after consultation with the Chief Minister. He further highlighted commendable progress in women and child welfare and tourism sectors.
On irrigation, he noted that upgrading old Kolhapuri dams with innovative gates would increase efficiency. He also suggested implementing experimental flood management projects like “Arch Safe Barrages,” initiated during former minister Anil Patil’s tenure. Regarding solar energy projects, Pawar emphasized ensuring their long-term sustainability. He also directed that government warehouses should be designed in a cost-effective yet durable manner.
Referring to the recent heavy rainfall in the district over the last three days, Pawar instructed the district administration to immediately conduct damage assessment surveys (panchnamas).
During the meeting at the Jalgaon District Planning Committee, the Deputy CM reviewed multiple ongoing and pending development projects, including:
- Jalgaon District Irrigation Policy
- Preparations for Kharif season
- Tapi Valley Mega Recharge Project
- Farm Pond Scheme
- Establishment of Divisional Sports Complex
- Tourism development projects including Gangakhed Bet
- Jalgaon’s economy and infrastructure
- Rail connectivity initiatives
- MIDC industrial development
- Banking and credit cooperative plans
Additionally, he inaugurated the new Record Section office of the District Planning Committee. Pawar reiterated that “comprehensive development of Jalgaon is our mission, and the state government along with district administration will continue working tirelessly to achieve progress in every sector.”
Positive Response to Guardian Minister’s Demands
Guardian Minister Gulabrao Patil highlighted that under Public Works and NABARD Hybrid Annuity, 1,463 works had been sanctioned, with this year’s demand being ₹2,248.98 crore. Currently, bills worth ₹1,264.08 crore are pending. He requested at least ₹800–900 crore, to which Deputy CM Pawar immediately sanctioned ₹300 crore.
Patil also demanded special approval for ₹4.35 crore from DPC funds for a memorial honoring 29 martyred soldiers. Pawar responded positively and assured approval, terming it a matter of special importance.
He further assured that Jalgaon district will be provided facilities and concessions under the state’s Industrial Policy, similar to Marathwada and Vidarbha. Discussions with the Chief Minister will be held to resolve this matter.
District Collector Ayush Prasad presented a detailed overview of developmental works and outcomes achieved through district planning.
