Raipur, Aug 2025 : On the very first day of the World Expo 2025 in Osaka (Japan), the Chhattisgarh Pavilion emerged as a major attraction, drawing the attention of more than 22,000 visitors.

At the invitation of the Indian Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), Government of India, Chhattisgarh is actively participating in the India Pavilion from August 24 to 30, 2025. The grand Chhattisgarh Pavilion was formally inaugurated today.
Chhattisgarh: A Confluence of Culture, Industry, and Opportunities
The pavilion has been designed to offer visitors an immersive experience, showcasing the state’s cultural richness, industrial strength, and tourism potential. It reflects Chhattisgarh’s development journey and its future possibilities before a global audience.
Tourism and Heritage Highlights
The pavilion highlights Chhattisgarh’s natural beauty and heritage. Nava Raipur, India’s first greenfield smart city, was a special attraction, symbolizing industrial and investment progress. The iconic Chitrakote Waterfall, often called the “Niagara of India,” captivated visitors with its grandeur. Sirpur, one of India’s largest Buddhist sites dating back to the 8th century, represented the region’s deep cultural and spiritual heritage. The pavilion also emphasized shared values of peace, inclusivity, and sustainable growth inspired by Buddha’s teachings, strengthening India–Japan cultural ties.
Industrial Strength and Logistics Hub
Chhattisgarh’s strategic central location and robust multimodal transport network position it as the largest logistics hub in India. Rapid growth in manufacturing, textiles, IT/ITES, electronics, and village industries was also showcased, underlining the state’s readiness for global investment.
Arts and Crafts Identity
The state’s folk art and handicrafts were another highlight. Bastar’s Dhokra art, a 4,000-year-old GI-tagged metal craft, fascinated visitors with its rustic charm. Kosa silk, often called the cultural soul of Chhattisgarh, also drew attention. Produced from the Antheraea mylitta silkworm found in state forests, it is renowned for its natural sheen, durability, and beauty. Artistic Kosa installations at the pavilion symbolized Chhattisgarh’s essence—where spirituality, nature, and development coexist.
A Strong Global Presence
The spectacular start of the Chhattisgarh Pavilion and the record footfall on Day One have set the tone for the coming week at the World Expo. The pavilion not only celebrates cultural diversity but also positions Chhattisgarh as an emerging hub for sustainable industrial growth and global investment opportunities.
