Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme Brings Change to Sukh Sagar’s Life
Raipur, Aug 2025 : With the subsidy, he purchased a high-quality Jersey cow and a Sahiwal cross cow.
Following the vision of Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai, the Animal Husbandry Department is providing benefits of schemes to livestock farmers in rural areas. In this context, farmer Mr. Sukh Sagar Yadav from the Bagicha development block in Jashpur district has seen a significant change in his economic condition, with a monthly income of ₹30,000.
Mr. Sukh Sagar Yadav received a subsidy of ₹70,000 from the state-sponsored Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme. With this fund, he purchased one high-quality Jersey cow and one Sahiwal cross cow. Previously, he only had one indigenous cow that produced about 1 liter of milk daily, which was only sufficient for household needs, resulting in no additional income from animal husbandry.
However, after benefiting from the scheme, he is now producing 16 to 18 liters of milk every day. By selling the milk, he earns between ₹25,000 and ₹30,000 each month. Additionally, he has also benefited from the National Artificial Insemination Program for breed improvement, resulting in the birth of high-quality calves.
The Animal Husbandry Department regularly conducts health check-ups for Sukh Sagar’s cows, provides deworming medication and mineral mixtures, along with insurance facilities. Technical guidance is also offered from time to time.
This scheme has strengthened Sukh Sagar’s economic status, and he is now recognized as a successful dairy entrepreneur.
