Chief Minister M.K. Stalin Inspects CM’s Helpline Centre in Kotturpuram, Chennai

Chennai, Aug 25: Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M.K. Stalin, today personally visited and inspected the Chief Minister’s Helpline Centre at Kotturpuram, Chennai, and reviewed its functioning.

The Chief Minister’s Helpline Centre, operating with the toll-free number 1100, has been functioning at Kotturpuram since April 2024. The centre works 16 hours a day, in three shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with 120 staff members, continuously handling calls from citizens across all districts.

Additionally, a dedicated e-governance support centre with 20 staff has been integrated with the Chief Minister’s Helpline to address public service-related grievances.

During his visit, the Hon’ble Chief Minister reviewed the operational details of the helpline and interacted with the officials. Under the “Ungaludan Stalin” (Stalin with You) scheme, officers evaluate the quality of grievance redressal. The Chief Minister inquired into the effectiveness of grievance solutions and gave appropriate guidance.

On average, the centre receives nearly 13,000 calls daily. To assess the quality of resolutions under the Ungaludan Stalin scheme, a sample of calls is verified every day. Feedback is also collected from beneficiaries to confirm whether their grievances were resolved satisfactorily. So far, about 2,800 calls per day are being verified, and feedback has been obtained from nearly 77,000 citizens, who benefitted under this scheme.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister also directed officials to forward unresolved grievances to the respective departments promptly and ensure that people are informed about the status of their petitions without delay.

The inspection was accompanied by Hon’ble Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin, Hon’ble Minister for Tamil Development and Information & Publicity Thiru M.P. Saminathan, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister Thirumathi D. Seethalakshmi, and senior government officials.
