‘Namo Express’ Special Train Departs for Konkan Amid Chants of Ganpati Bappa Morya
Initiative by Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha for Ganesh Festival Devotees
Mumbai, Aug 2025: With the efforts of Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Minister Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha, a special ‘Namo Express’ train carrying Ganesh devotees departed today from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus amid resounding chants of Ganpati Bappa Morya. Minister Lodha flagged off the train and extended best wishes to the devotees traveling to Konkan for the Ganesh festival.
Under the guidance of Minister Lodha, this special service is arranged every year during the Ganesh festival for devotees traveling to Konkan. This year, free breakfast and drinking water were provided to around 2,000 devotees on board.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Lodha said, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, the government has declared Ganeshotsav as a ‘State Festival’. This year, the enthusiasm among devotees is even greater than before. With the Chief Minister’s guidance, this ‘Namo Express’ is being run with a smooth process to ensure that devotees face no inconvenience during their journey to Konkan.”
The special train departed at 11:10 AM from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, with its first halt at Khed. It will further stop at Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Rajapur, Vaibhavwadi, Kankavli, Sindhudurg, Kudal, and finally at Sawantwadi.
Passengers expressed their gratitude, stating that the ‘Namo Express’ organized by Minister Lodha has provided excellent facilities and made their festive journey much more comfortable.
