Sports Minister Congratulates World Champion Archer Sharvari

Mumbai, Aug 25: Maharashtra’s 16-year-old archer, Sharvari Somnath Shende, has won a gold medal at the Youth World Archery Championship held in Winnipeg, Canada.

Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Adv. Manikrao Kokate personally spoke to Sharvari and congratulated her on this outstanding achievement.

He also extended congratulations to Maharashtra’s young archer Pritika Pradeep, who secured two silver medals, and to Gatha Anandrao Khadke, who won a bronze medal along with Sharvari.

On behalf of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, Minister Kokate conveyed best wishes to Sharvari, Pritika, and Gatha for raising Maharashtra’s flag of victory on the global stage.

Upon learning of Sharvari’s golden success, Minister Kokate contacted coach Kunal Taware and personally called Sharvari in Canada to extend his warm congratulations, giving her a pleasant surprise.

Praising their achievements, the Minister said the victory reflects “tireless hard work, dedication, patience, determination, and skill.” He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring a bright future for sportspersons in the state.
