Priyanka Kakkar Criticizes ED Raid on Saurabh Bhardwaj
New Delhi, Aug 2025 – Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) National Chief Spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar launched a sharp attack on the BJP after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid at Delhi minister Saurabh Bhardwaj’s residence.
She alleged that “those with fake degrees” orchestrated a fake case to prompt the raid, which she called an attempt to divert attention from the ongoing controversy over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s alleged fake degree.
Kakkar stated, “The entire case is fabricated. At the time being referred to in the case, Saurabh Bhardwaj was not even a minister. ED and CBI must break free from the clutches of the fake-degree holders and go after the real looters of the country.”
During a press conference at AAP headquarters, Kakkar said the raid was politically motivated: “The real issue was that on Monday, the entire nation wanted to know why Prime Minister Modi refused to show his degree in court. To suppress that discussion, investigative agencies were misused again today to raid our Delhi state convenor’s house.”
She further suggested that the allegations regarding irregularities in hospital approvals from 2016, 2018–19, and 2021 were baseless, as Bhardwaj only became Health Minister in 2023. Before him, Satyendar Jain held the position and was kept in jail for three years, harassed, and defamed, only for CBI to now file closure reports in his cases one by one.
Kakkar questioned whether taxpayers’ money was meant for ED and CBI to file false cases instead of bringing back black money or catching fugitives like Mehul Choksi. “These agencies are being used to silence AAP leaders, but BJP should realize by now that AAP will not be intimidated.”
She recalled how even the Supreme Court described ED and CBI as “crooked” and a “caged parrot”. According to her, these institutions must break free from the grip of a “fake degree government.”
Highlighting AAP’s governance record, Kakkar said, “We are proud to be the only party that has worked in education and healthcare so effectively that it rattled BJP. Instead of Hindu-Muslim politics and horse-trading, BJP should focus on real governance.”
She criticized BJP’s rule in Delhi, pointing to long power cuts, waterlogging, and even flooding at AIIMS. She added that middle-class families are often pushed to poverty by a single hospital bill, an issue AAP was addressing.
Kakkar concluded, “AAP will not be scared by baseless allegations and BJP’s politics of revenge. Pay attention to governance in Delhi and the nation. The world is progressing, while we are still struggling for basic facilities.”
