Collected Literature of Mahatma Phule and Savitribai Phule Published

Mumbai, Aug 2025 : The legacy of revolutionary thinker Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and social reformer Savitribai Phule will reach the new generation through their combined body of literature. This literature will inspire today’s youth and guide them on the path to success, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

At a program held at Mantralaya, CM Fadnavis formally released the Collected Works of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule. This comprehensive compilation has been published by the Mahajyoti Institute under the Department of Other Backward Classes Welfare. On this occasion, the new website of the Department of Other Backward Classes Welfare was also launched by the Chief Minister.

Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, Minister for OBC Welfare Atul Save, other cabinet ministers, and senior department officials were present at the event.

The collection includes 23 works of Mahatma Phule, 14 works of Savitribai Phule, their correspondence, and several important documents. A special feature of this compilation is the inclusion of colored photographs of Mahatma Phule’s residence (Wada) in Pune and Savitribai Phule’s memorial at Naygaon in Satara.

The book has been published with the approval of the Department of Higher and Technical Education and the Maharashtra State Literature and Culture Board. A total of 27,000 copies have been printed. Of these, 750 copies will be distributed in each district through district-level education departments, economic development boards, ashram schools, and hostels.

Through the department’s newly launched website, citizens will now have easy access to comprehensive information about all welfare schemes, scholarships, hostels, and various government initiatives in one place. The portal, designed using modern technology, was described as user-friendly and accessible.
