Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s Review from the Disaster Control Room Amidst Ongoing Heavy Rains in the State

State administration and disaster management system should be alert for rescue and relief work – Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

Mumbai : Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar visited the Ministry’s emergency control room this morning to assess the situation caused by heavy rains and floods affecting various parts of the state, including Mumbai, Pune, and Thane. He directed officials to ensure mutual coordination and cooperation in rescue and relief efforts. Director of the Disaster Management Department, Mr. Lahu Mali, briefed him about the current situation and the measures in place.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawar contacted Municipal Commissioners and Divisional Commissioners of major cities via telephone to gather information from the control room. He instructed them to remain vigilant and ready for rescue and relief operations, emphasizing the importance of maintaining communication with NDRF officials to ensure immediate assistance. He stressed the need to provide shelter and food to those affected by the disaster and urged the state administration and disaster relief systems to work closely with district authorities for effective coordination and cooperation. He also directed immediate delivery of rescue and aid to the citizens.

Pawar appealed to citizens to take necessary precautions to protect themselves from heavy rains and floods, advising them to contact local administrative systems in case of emergencies and avoid going out unless absolutely necessary. Additionally, he called on local public representatives and workers to actively assist the affected citizens.
