Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha calls for public participation; Skill Development Department to organize multiple events

Mumbai, Sept 2025 : The patriotic song ‘Vande Mataram’, composed by the great poet and philosopher Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in 1875, will complete 150 years on November 7 this year. To commemorate this historic occasion, a series of programs have been planned under the initiative of Skill Development Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha. As part of these celebrations, a logo design competition for the Vande Mataram Sesquicentennial Festival has now been launched.

Describing Vande Mataram as a timeless symbol of patriotism and national pride, Minister Lodha noted that even today, the song continues to ignite the spirit of love for the nation in the hearts of Indians. To mark 150 years of this iconic creation, several activities will be held under the sesquicentennial celebrations. The Minister explained that the logo competition was being organized to encourage the public to contribute creatively to the identity of this festival.

Highlighting the song’s historical significance and its power to inspire patriotism, Lodha said that the glory of Vande Mataram should be celebrated with enthusiastic participation from the people. He appealed to citizens, organizations, schools, colleges, and communities to spread awareness of the occasion through social media and other platforms and to actively take part in the logo competition.
