Teachers’ Day Celebration at DIET, Lunglei

Lunglei, Sept, 2025 : Today, the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Lunglei celebrated Teachers’ Day at the Lunglei Convention Centre Conference Hall.

The program was hosted by C. Lalrinkima, a third-semester Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) student. Principal Pi Lalremruati Fanai delivered a speech highlighting the importance and dignity of teachers. She urged both the trainee teachers at DIET Lunglei and those already serving to dedicate themselves sincerely, emphasizing that teaching is one of the most significant forms of service to society.

The event featured a variety of performances by DIET students, including songs, dances, skits, and other cultural items. Gifts and tokens of appreciation were presented to teachers, followed by speeches from the teachers themselves.

As part of the broader celebrations, on August 26, 2025, DIET Lunglei organized an Essay Writing Competition for high school students under the Lunglei Municipal Council (LMC) on the theme “Good Teacher.” Prizes were awarded during today’s function. In the essay contest, Vanhmingsangi (One Heart Academy) secured first place, L.H. Laltleipuii (Holy Faith School) came second, and Nathan R. Zochampuia (Sacred Heart School) took third. Consolation prizes were also given to five other students.
