Grand Celebration of Teachers’ Day at Saitual

Saitual, Sept 2025 : The Saitual District Committee on the Celebration of Teachers’ Day 2025 organized a grand Teachers’ Day function at Dorawta Hall, Saitual.

The program was presided over by Deputy Commissioner of Saitual, Dr. Lalngura Tlau, who extended heartfelt greetings to all teachers. He expressed gratitude to the organizing committee for the excellent arrangements, noting that such celebrations should not be limited to a single year but should continue annually at both the district and block levels.

In his address, Dr. Tlau emphasized that teachers are the true nation-builders who guide and nurture the country’s most valuable resources—its children. He highlighted that teachers play a vital role in shaping young minds, instilling values, knowledge, and reasoning skills. Without these foundations, financial resources alone cannot bring progress but rather lead to setbacks. He added that teachers are essential to help students cultivate disciplined and well-rounded thinking.

The program was chaired by Pu Laldingliana, DEO & DPC of Samagra Shiksha, and was graced by Pastor PC Lalrinchhuanga of PCI Saitual Chhimveng, who delivered the devotional message. Pu R. Lalhmangaiha, Dy. DPC of Samagra Shiksha Saitual, delivered a keynote address, and at the end, Pu Laldingliana, DEO/DPC, expressed his thanks and formally closed the event.

During the celebration, both teachers and retired pensioners were honored. Teachers and pensioners from across Saitual town, including recipients of National and State Awards, participated enthusiastically. A total contribution of ₹21,340 was collected, which was donated to various causes: ₹6,340 to the District Hospital Poor Fund, ₹5,000 to Hlimna In (Girls’ Home), ₹5,000 to Serenity Boys’ Home Saitual, and ₹5,000 to Sangtea Memorial Camping Centre Saitual.

This year’s Teachers’ Day celebration was also observed at Ngopa and Phullen blocks.
