District-Level Kick-Off of Mizoram Cleanliness Competition (MCC) 2025 Held in Saitual

Saitual, Sept 2025: The District-Level Kick-Off Programme of the Mizoram Cleanliness Competition (MCC) 2025 was held today at the DC Conference Hall, Saitual. The event was graced by Dr. Lalngura Tlau, Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the Saitual Town Sanitation Committee, as the chief guest.

Speaking at the function, Dr. Lalngura Tlau urged the leaders of Saitual town, urban areas, NGOs, and youth groups from various churches to actively participate in the cleanliness competition. He emphasised the importance of understanding the parameters of the competition and encouraged every stakeholder to give their best effort.

He noted that cleanliness is not only a measure of progress but also a key factor in ensuring public health and well-being. The Deputy Commissioner further appealed to the participants to begin preparations in earnest so that Mizoram can excel at the national level in the Swachh Survekshan awards.

The programme featured a presentation by Er. Laldinsanga Hnamte, District Urban Development Officer (DUDO), UD&PA, who delivered a detailed report and explained the various activities planned under the competition. He also outlined the evaluation methods, guidelines, and strategies for successful implementation of the Mizoram Cleanliness Competition (MCC) 2025.

Today’s event was attended by heads of various government departments, members of Village Level Sanitation Committees, Village Councils, NGOs, and several social organisations.
