Review of functioning of Annasaheb Patil Economic Development Corporation and ‘SARTHI’

Mumbai, Sept. 2025 : Every scheme implemented by the Annasaheb Patil Economic Development Corporation must reach the eligible beneficiaries in society, and special care should be taken to ensure this. These schemes must be implemented in a transparent and effective manner so that maximum beneficiaries get the advantage, directed Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. He also reviewed the work of the Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Research, Training and Human Development Institute (SARTHI).

The Deputy CM reviewed the functioning of the Annasaheb Patil Economic Development Corporation in the Committee Hall of his office at Mantralaya. Present on the occasion were Corporation Chairman Narendra Patil, Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) O. P. Gupta, Principal Secretary (Planning) Saurabh Vijay, Principal Secretary (Cooperation) Pravin Darade, Joint Secretary (Planning) Vivek Gaikwad; along with Commissioner for Cooperation Deepak Taware (via video conferencing), Deputy CM’s Secretary Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh, Managing Director of the Corporation Vijaysingh Deshmukh, General Manager of Bank of Maharashtra Arun Kabade, Deputy General Manager of the Corporation Akash More, and Joint Secretary (Cooperation) Santosh Patil.

Deputy CM Pawar said the main objective of the Corporation is to provide self-employment opportunities to educated unemployed youth from economically backward sections. For this, various schemes such as the Individual Loan Interest Rebate Scheme, Group Loan Interest Rebate Scheme, and Group Project Loan Scheme are being implemented. He stressed that the schemes should be implemented transparently and effectively to ensure maximum beneficiaries are covered. He further directed that information about these schemes must be disseminated properly to those in need, and called for effective publicity and awareness drives.

He emphasized that there should be no hurdles in the process of availing scheme benefits, and the right beneficiaries must be identified and provided timely financial assistance. The Deputy CM added that these schemes encourage youth to take up businesses, industries, and entrepreneurship, thereby increasing self-employment opportunities and boosting economic progress in the state. Hence, the administration must work responsibly to ensure the results of these schemes reach the grassroots level.

During the meeting, Deputy CM Pawar also reviewed the work of SARTHI. Detailed discussions were held on subjects such as skill development, scholarships, competitive exam training, research, Swadhar Yojana, overseas scholarships, and hostels being run through SARTHI. Pawar stressed that skill development and training should be given priority for ensuring a bright future for students. He assured that there will be no shortage of funds for children’s education and progress.
