BJP Is the World’s Largest Political Party with 14 Crore Members: J. P. Nadda
Visakhapatnam, Sept 2025 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president J. P. Nadda on Sunday declared that the BJP is now the world’s largest political party with a membership of 14 crore, including two crore active members. He was addressing a public meeting in Visakhapatnam, organized to mark the culmination of the Saradhyam Yatra led by the party’s Andhra Pradesh unit president P. V. N. Madhav.
Highlighting the BJP’s expanding footprint, Nadda said, “With 240 Lok Sabha members, around 1,500 MLAs, and more than 170 MLCs, the BJP is the largest representative party in the country. We lead NDA governments in 20 states, and the BJP independently governs 13 states.”

Vision for a Developed India
Calling upon party workers, Nadda urged them to recognize their role in shaping the nation’s future. “Every BJP karyakarta should remember that we are the ones who will lead India towards a Viksit Bharat, guided by the mantra Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” he said.
He underlined that India has witnessed unprecedented progress over the past 11 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Describing the BJP-led NDA as both “responsible and responsive,” Nadda contrasted the present government with earlier regimes. “Previous governments were marred by corruption, dynastic politics, and non-performance. Under Prime Minister Modi, India has seen politics of performance and a government accountable to the people,” he remarked.
Fulfilled Commitments and National Achievements
Nadda highlighted the BJP’s success in fulfilling key promises: abrogation of Article 370, construction of the Ram temple, the repeal of triple talaq, and amendments to the Waqf Board Act.
On the economic front, he recalled that when the NDA assumed office in 2014, India was ranked the 11th largest economy in the world. “Today, India is the fourth largest economy and will soon become the third,” he asserted, adding that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has termed India a “bright spot” in the global economy.
The BJP chief also mentioned the government’s tax reforms, noting that GST 2.0 had reduced the number of slabs, which he called a “Diwali and Dussehra gift to the people.” He added that under PM Modi’s leadership, sectors such as defence, manufacturing, exports, and pharmaceuticals had seen tremendous growth. “India has emerged as the pharmacy of the world,” Nadda said.
Focus on Andhra Pradesh’s Development
Turning to Andhra Pradesh, Nadda criticized the previous YSR Congress Party government for corruption and lack of governance. He expressed gratitude to the people for bringing the NDA to power in the state. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Andhra Pradesh is now on the path of progress,” he said.
He listed major development initiatives supported by the Centre:
- Amaravati Capital Project: ₹15,000 crore allocated for the construction of the new capital.
- Educational Hub: Several institutions sanctioned, transforming the state into an emerging center of education.
- Infrastructure: The length of national highways in Andhra Pradesh has doubled.
- Urban Development: ₹3,500 crore allocated under the AMRUT scheme, with Kakinada, Tirupati, and Amaravati designated as smart cities.
- Ports and Railways: 14 ports under development, including ₹625 crore for Bhogapuram Port, and the establishment of the South Coastal Railway Zone.
Conclusion
Nadda concluded by reiterating the BJP’s commitment to good governance and development. He emphasized that the BJP is not only the world’s largest political party by membership but also the most representative force in India’s democratic system. “We should be proud that we belong to a party with a strong ideological base, a proven record of performance, and a vision to make India a developed nation,” he told the gathering.
