Dr. A. Siri Takes Charge as Kurnool Collector, Pledges Smart City Vision and Inclusive Growth

Kurnool: Dr. A. Siri officially assumed charge as the new District Collector of Kurnool on Saturday, setting out a vision for inclusive development and progress across the region. Formerly serving as Director of Secondary Health, Dr. Siri took over from outgoing officials at a function held at the Collectorate, which was attended by district officials, public representatives, and community leaders. The ceremony began with Sarvadharma prayers, symbolizing harmony and collective goodwill for his new tenure.

Soon after taking charge, Dr. Siri addressed the media, affirming his commitment to work closely with citizens and elected representatives to achieve comprehensive development. He outlined plans to transform Kurnool into a model “smart city” while ensuring effective implementation of the government’s flagship programmes. Among his immediate priorities are tackling drinking water shortages, promoting groundwater recharge, and strengthening sanitation systems.

Emphasizing the district’s industrial potential, Dr. Siri highlighted the role of the Orvakal Industrial Node in boosting economic activity and creating new employment opportunities for local youth. He also underscored the need to improve education and expand healthcare services, particularly in rural areas, assuring that the upgradation of the Government District Hospital would be taken up on priority.

On governance, Dr. Siri pledged to review grievances raised through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) with seriousness and ensure speedy, transparent resolutions. He also stressed giving special attention to revenue-related land disputes to provide timely relief to citizens.

At the ceremony, Joint Collector Dr. B. Navya, District Revenue Officer C. Venkata Narayanamma, and other senior officials felicitated Dr. Siri with a flower bouquet, extending their best wishes for a successful tenure.

With his proactive approach and emphasis on both infrastructure and welfare, Dr. Siri’s leadership is expected to open a new chapter of development and inclusive growth in Kurnool district.
