If the Punjab government can give farmers ₹20,000 per acre compensation, then why not the BJP government of Haryana?

Chandigarh, Sept 2025 : In Haryana, farmers’ crops have been submerged in water and completely destroyed. Fresh figures show that more than 20 lakh acres of crops have been ruined, but the BJP government of Haryana till now does not appear sensitive towards the pain of farmers. Thousands of farmers, losing the hard-earned earnings of their labor, are wandering door to door, but instead of giving relief, the government is only engaged in statements and paper claims.

Senior leader of Aam Aadmi Party and national media in-charge Anurag Dhanda issued a statement on Wednesday making a sharp attack on the Haryana government. He said that the attitude of the government is like cheating with farmers. The compensation being given to farmers is extremely low and insufficient. Not only this, but on the portal created by the government, there is large-scale irregularity and fraud happening. Thousands of farmers are not even able to withdraw their amount, and the government is sitting silently.

Dhanda said that Chief Minister Nayab Singh and ministers avoid going on the ground to talk to farmers. The truth is that in villages, farmers are facing misery every day, but the BJP government does not come out of AC rooms and meetings. He said that this is the same government which earlier also tried to implement anti-farmer laws and even today is walking on the same path.

Making a comparison, Anurag Dhanda said that the Punjab Aam Aadmi Party government understood the pain of farmers and decided the biggest compensation in the country. The Punjab government is giving farmers ₹20,000 per acre compensation so that their labor is respected and their loss can be compensated. On the other hand, the Haryana government till now has not even announced compensation of an average of ₹10,000 to 12,000 per acre, which is like rubbing salt on the wounds of farmers.

Dhanda clearly said that the Aam Aadmi Party will continue to strongly fight the battle of farmers. He said, “We will not allow anyone to mess with the hard work and rights of farmers. When the farmers of Punjab can get respect and relief, then the farmers of Haryana are not weak either. The Aam Aadmi Party will definitely get the farmers of Haryana their rights.”

Today the picture of Punjab and Haryana is clear –

  • In Punjab, farmers are getting relief and respect.
  • In Haryana, farmers are feeling cheated and troubled.

This difference shows that on one side, the Mann government is standing with the farmers, while on the other side, the BJP government of Nayab Singh Saini is sitting with eyes closed to the suffering of farmers.
