Sept, 2025 : On Thursday, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed the flood-affected areas across the state from the State Disaster Operation Centre at IT Park. He instructed that the rescue and relief operations in the disaster-affected villages of Nandanagar area, Chamoli district, be further accelerated.
While obtaining information about the natural disaster in Chamoli’s Nandanagar region from District Magistrate Shri Sandeep Tiwari, the Chief Minister directed that seriously injured persons be immediately airlifted to AIIMS Rishikesh for advanced medical treatment.
Since early morning, the Chief Minister remained in constant contact with the Disaster Operation Centre and district administration officials to monitor the rescue and relief work. He instructed the officials to ensure the quick restoration of roads, drinking water supply, electricity, and network connectivity in areas affected by heavy rainfall. Adequate arrangements for shelter, food, clean drinking water, and other essential facilities should be made for the disaster-affected people. Sufficient doctors and medicines must be available in every affected area to provide immediate medical assistance in any emergency.
As soon as the incident in Nandanagar came to light, the district administration and police forces became active, safely evacuating a large number of people. At present, relief and rescue operations are being carried out with full coordination and urgency. The Chief Minister gave clear instructions that relief material should quickly reach every family in the affected villages.
On this occasion, Disaster Management Advisory Committee Vice-Chairman Shri Vinay Rohilla, Chief Secretary Shri Anand Bardhan, Disaster Management Secretary Shri Vinod Kumar Suman, Garhwal Commissioner Shri Vinay Shankar Pandey, and other officials associated with disaster management were present.
