Major Action by Commercial Tax Department Against Transporters Carrying Illegal Goods – 17 Vehicles Seized, 6 Warehouses in Jaipur Sealed

Jaipur, Sept 2025 : Continuous action by the Commercial Tax Department against tax evasion has created a stir among tax evaders in the state. In line with the zero-tolerance policy against tax evasion initiated by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, a comprehensive campaign targeting GST evasion is underway under the efficient direction and strategy of the State Chief Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Kumar Pal Gautam, yielding positive results.

Following the Chief Commissioner’s instructions, nine enforcement teams were deployed covertly on various state highways. Using technical surveillance, these teams seized 17 vehicles transporting goods without e-way bills and valid documents. The seized vehicles were carrying a range of items including retail goods, marble and granite, dry fruits, and electronic items. These vehicles have been brought to departmental offices for physical verification of the goods, after which the applicable GST will be collected.

On the Chief Commissioner’s directives, the enforcement branch conducted simultaneous operations at six major transport company warehouses in Jaipur last Monday, uncovering significant tax evasion. The warehouses—belonging to Gil Sandhu Transport, Jadia Transport, Kriyashakti, Sunil Transport, and PCM Cargo—are located in the V.K.I. Area and Transport Nagar. Over a two-day operation, the department seized 1,960 items, including readymade goods, dry fruits, and electrical items, with an initial estimated market value running into crores of rupees. These goods were being brought into the state from outside without paying taxes.

The department is currently counting these items, after which penalties will be levied. During searches, large numbers of loose invoices and diaries were also seized, indicating potential additional tax evasion worth crores of rupees. Further investigation is underway.

The department stated that these actions are aligned with the state government’s intent to facilitate honest taxpayers and transporters while cracking down on traders and transporters evading taxes. Similar operations will continue against tax evaders in the future.
