Unique Initiative for Workers’ Welfare on Silver Jubilee: Thousands of Workers Benefited Through Health Check-up Camps

Raipur, Sept 2025 : On the occasion of the Silver Jubilee of the formation of Chhattisgarh State, from September 12 to 19, 2025, various programs were organized across the state by the Department of Industrial Health and Safety and the Labour Department, in line with the vision of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. The main objective of these programs was to prioritize the physical and mental health of workers, enhance their efficiency, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards in industrial regions.
During this period, workers were provided with health check-up facilities at the camps. They were also given awareness on workplace safety, safe use of equipment, accident prevention, and basic first aid.
Large-scale Health Camps Across Districts
In Raipur district, health camps were held at the Urla Association Building and the community hall in Siltara, where 1,050 workers were examined. In Durg district, 300 workers at Mangal Bazaar, Bhilai, and 200 workers at the Dussehra ground in Rasamda benefited. In Korba district, camps organized at Adani Power, BALCO, and DSPM benefitted 835 workers. In Raigarh district, 3,800 workers from 32 factories were examined, along with 1,200 workers at Panjari Plant and the Municipal Corporation Auditorium. In Bilaspur district, 1,072 workers underwent check-ups at Narmada Drinks Pvt. Ltd., Sirgitti. In Mahasamund district, 254 workers were examined at Birkoni. In Balodabazar district, 350 workers at Babadiha and 207 workers at Kukurdiha benefitted.
Similarly, in Kawardha district, 200 workers each were examined at the sugar factories in Ramhepur and Pandariya. In Janjgir-Champa district, 374 workers at Prakash Industries, Bamni Deeh, and 400 workers at KSK Mahanadi Powergen, Akaltara, were covered. In Sakti district, 296 workers at RKM Powergen, Dabhra, and 352 workers at DB Power, Badadarha, received health check-ups. In Mungeli district, 250 workers were examined at Kusum Smelters, Khamhardih. In Surajpur district, 47 workers at UV Ventures, Nayanpur, were covered. In Bastar district, 85 workers in Jagdalpur participated. In Rajnandgaon district, 60 workers at Tedesara and 133 workers at Indamara benefitted. In Bemetara district, several workers from Raizen Industries in village Sarda were examined.
Labour Conference at Raipur
On September 17, 2025, a Grand Labour Conference was organized at the Indoor Stadium, Raipur, as part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations. Addressing the workers, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said, “Our workers are the strength and symbol of development of the state. Their health and welfare remain our top priority.” A health camp was also held at the conference where 300 workers were examined.
The state government believes that the health and safety of workers not only improve their personal quality of life but also directly contribute to industrial productivity and the overall development of the state. In this light, the initiative marks a significant step toward industrial growth and workers’ welfare in Chhattisgarh.
