Campaign Underway to Connect Farmers with Advanced and Affordable Fertilizer Technologies
Raipur, Sept 2025 : To promote the use of nano fertilizers such as Nano Urea and Nano DAP, several initiatives have been launched. Awareness camps, webinars, field demonstrations, farmer conferences, and films in regional languages are being organized to increase their adoption among farmers. To make foliar spraying of Nano Urea easier, new equipment like agriculture drones and battery-operated sprayers are being made available to farmers. At the same time, custom hiring spraying services are being encouraged through trained village-level entrepreneurs under pilot projects.
In Raigarh district, agricultural officers and experts are conducting demonstrations of Nano Urea spraying directly in farmers’ fields to connect them with advanced and affordable fertilizer technologies. Under the guidance of the Raigarh Collector and the Agriculture Department, these awareness programs are being carried out. As part of this, trial demonstrations of Nano Urea have been held in Raigarh block.
In village Kodtarai, farmer Parmeshwar Patel; in Jharghuda, farmer Harkeshwar Patel; and in Panjhar, farmer Narendra Patel had one-acre paddy fields where Nano Urea spraying demonstrations were conducted. In the coming days, such demonstrations will be extended to the fields of other farmers as well. Along with the beneficiary farmer, other farmers of the village are also being invited to observe these demonstrations.
The Deputy Director of Agriculture stated that this initiative will not only reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers but also help lower input costs and increase farmers’ profitability. Farmers were given detailed information about the methods and benefits of Nano Urea application. Spraying can be done using drones, motors, batteries, and knapsack sprayers. Senior agriculture development officers, rural agricultural extension officers, representatives from IFFCO, and local farmers were present during the program.
Farmers found Nano Urea spraying affordable and convenient
During the demonstration, farmers learned about the method of spraying Nano Urea. Farmer Parmeshwar Patel said that compared to traditional urea, it is much cheaper, gives better results even in small quantities, and is convenient to transport and spray due to its bottled packaging. He added that its effect on plants is visible quickly and uniformly, ensuring balanced plant growth.
Massive campaign to be launched in November–December
The Deputy Director of Agriculture, Raigarh, informed that at present, demonstrations are being conducted at selected locations. In November and December, a large-scale campaign will be rolled out across the entire district. All RAEOs (Rural Agricultural Extension Officers) will conduct field demonstrations in their respective villages to make farmers aware of the application methods and benefits of Nano Urea. Further, during the upcoming Developed Agriculture Sankalp Yatra, information about Nano Urea will also be disseminated to farmers.
