CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Promotes ‘Adopt Swadeshi’ Campaign, Educates Public on New GST Rates in Dehradun

Dehradun, Sept 2025: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Kunawala Market in Dehradun on Wednesday as part of a public awareness drive to promote the “Adopt Swadeshi” campaign and inform citizens about the new GST rates.

During his visit, the Chief Minister engaged with shopkeepers and local residents, highlighting the importance of using indigenous products. He emphasized that promoting locally-made goods is a significant step toward building a self-reliant India while simultaneously creating employment opportunities for local artisans, small-scale industries, and youth.

CM Dhami urged the public to gradually shift toward indigenous products in their daily lives, thereby reducing reliance on imported items. He also explained the revised GST rates, noting that they have been simplified to facilitate business activities and enhance public convenience. “A transparent and straightforward tax system not only benefits citizens but also strengthens the state’s economic growth,” he said.

The Chief Minister underlined that the success of the “Adopt Swadeshi” initiative depends on public awareness and active participation. He encouraged everyone to contribute to this campaign to boost the local economy and empower domestic industries.

MLA Brijbhushan Gairola was present during the visit, supporting the Chief Minister’s efforts to promote the use of indigenous products and educate the public about the new GST framework.

The campaign aims to make citizens more conscious consumers while simultaneously reinforcing Uttarakhand’s economic self-sufficiency and supporting local businesses in a sustainable manner.
