B.Sc. Horticulture Final Year Students from College of Horticulture, Thenzawl Attend Student READY Internship Programme at KVK Kolasib

Kolasib, Sept 2025: Final-year Bachelor of Science (Horticulture) students from the College of Horticulture, Thenzawl, under the Central Agricultural University, Imphal, Manipur, undertook the Rural Entrepreneurship Awareness Development Yojana (READY) internship programme at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kolasib, from 18 August to 30 September 2025. Today, the valedictory and certificate distribution programme was held at the KVK Kolasib Conference Hall.

A total of 25 students from the College of Horticulture, Thenzawl, participated in the Student READY programme. They were divided into three groups and carried out village-level studies in Thingdawl, Kawnpui, and Hortoki. In addition, subject matter experts from KVK provided detailed and effective training in various disciplines such as Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Protection, Soil Science, Agricultural Engineering, Fishery Science, and Home Science.

The programme concluded with a valedictory function chaired by Pu Rualthantluanga Pachuau, Subject Matter Specialist (Fisheries), KVK Kolasib. Dr. Michelle C. Lallawmkimi, Senior Scientist and Head, and also the Student READY Course Director, addressed the students, offering encouragement and guidance, and distributed certificates.

During the event, the final-year B.Sc. (Horticulture) students presented their learnings and experiences through PowerPoint presentations. The programme ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Pu Zohlunpuia, Subject Matter Specialist (Agronomy), KVK Kolasib.
