TN CM M. K. Stalin Pays Tribute on Actor Sivaji Ganesan’s 98th Birth Anniversary

Chennai, Sept 2025: Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Shri M. K. Stalin, will pay homage to the legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan on the occasion of his 98th birth anniversary on 1 October 2025. At 10:00 AM, CM Stalin will visit the memorial at the actor’s residence in Kamalman Amayaru, offering floral tributes and paying respects.

Born on 1 October 1928, Sivaji Ganesan, fondly called “Nadigar Thilagam,” was known for his extraordinary acting prowess and dedication to cinema. He once remarked, “Acting is my breath, acting is my life, and acting is my commitment.” Starting his career on the stage, he performed in numerous plays before entering the film industry. His debut film, Sivaji Ganesh Hindu Co. Ramajyam, showcased his talent and earned him widespread recognition.

Over his illustrious career, Sivaji Ganesan appeared in more than 300 Tamil films, 2 Hindi films, 9 Telugu films, and one Malayalam film. His performances in historical and classical films such as Thamizhhan, Rajaraja Cholan, and Veerapandiya Kattabomman remain etched in the hearts of audiences. He received multiple national honors, including the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, Dadasaheb Phalke Award, and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, recognizing his contribution to Indian cinema.

The Tamil Nadu government annually commemorates the birth anniversary of Sivaji Ganesan as a state event. This year, alongside CM Stalin, ministers, MPs, MLAs, local representatives, senior government officials, and other dignitaries will participate in the tribute ceremony, offering floral respects at the memorial.
