Tamil Nadu Police Invites Applications from Ex-Servicemen for Bomb Detection & Disposal Posts

Chennai, Sept 2025: Tamil Nadu Police is inviting applications from Ex-Servicemen and Ex-Paramilitary Force personnel with Bomb Detection & Disposal (BDD) skills for contract-based positions in the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads of Tamil Nadu Police for a period of one year, extendable if required.

Vacancies and Pay Scales:

  • Inspector (BDDS): 2 vacancies (Ex-Subedars/Subedar-Majors) | Pay: ₹37,700 – ₹1,19,500
  • Sub-Inspector (BDDS): 14 vacancies (Ex-Naib Subedars) | Pay: ₹36,900 – ₹1,16,600
  • Head Constable (BDDS): 43 vacancies (Ex-Havildars/Naiks) | Pay: ₹20,600 – ₹65,500

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age: Below 50 years as of 01.07.2025
  • Educational Qualification: Minimum SSLC or equivalent
  • Technical Qualification: Completion of a minimum 6-week BDD course conducted by CME Pune, NSG, or BCAS
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of service in Army or Paramilitary Force with practical experience in BDD units (e.g., 261/262 CED Units, CME EDD Wing, NSG BD Unit, National Bomb Data Centre, Airports)
  • Skills: Knowledge of field engineering and allied trades with the ability to impart BDD training in Tamil and English
  • Medical Category: SHAPE-I
