Odisha Government Announces Rs 7 Crore 1 Lakh 40 thousand financial Assistance for Durga Puja Committees Across the State

Bhubaneswar, Oct 2025 : Under the direction of Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, the State Government has decided for the first time to provide financial assistance amounting to Rs 7 crore 1 lakh 40 thousand to various Durga Puja Committees across Odisha.

The Durga Puja Committees have been categorized into three groups for the purpose of financial assistance

Category ‘A’ – Heritage Durga Puja Committees

A total of 215 Heritage Durga puja committees will receive Rs 2 crore 17 lakh 15 thousand. (Each puja committee under this category will be provided Rs 1 lakh 1 thousand as financial assistance.)

Category ‘B’ – 75-Year-Old Durga Puja Committees

A total of 197 puja committees falling in this category will receive Rs 1 crore 47 lakh 75 thousand.
(Each committee under this category will receive Rs 75 thousand as financial assistance.)

Category ‘C’ – 50-Year-Old Durga Puja Committees

A total of 673 puja committees will be provided Rs 3 crore 36 lakh 50 thousand. (Each committee under this category will receive Rs 50 thousand as financial assistance)

In total, 1,085 Durga Puja Committees across the state will be provided Rs 7 crore 1 lakh 40 thousand as financial assistance.
