Goldsmith Community Strengthens Nation’s Art, Culture & Economy: CM Bhajanlal Sharma
Jaipur, Oct 2025 : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that Maharaja Ajmeed, a great ruler of the Chandravanshi lineage, was also an exceptional artist. He transformed the craft of creating ornaments and artworks into a prestigious profession for his subjects and descendants. The Chief Minister said that the Goldsmith community, carrying forward Maharaja Ajmeed’s legacy, continues to make a significant contribution to strengthening the country’s art, culture, and economy.
Shri Sharma was addressing the Maharaja Ajmeed Jayanti Mahotsav organized by the Shri Maidh Kshatriya Swarnakar Sabha at Agrawal College in Jaipur on Sunday. He said the art of crafting gold into exquisite ornaments, possessed by the Goldsmith community, is unparalleled in the world. The jewelry crafted by them represents the essence of Indian culture. He added that Jaipur, in particular, has gained global fame as a center for gems and jewelry. The gemstones and ornaments made by local artisans give Jaipur a unique international identity. This not only boosts the nation’s economy but also provides employment to thousands of people.
Favorable Environment for Investors in the State
The Chief Minister said that the state government is honoring traditional craftsmanship while taking significant steps to promote industry and trade across Rajasthan. Keeping the state’s economic growth as the top priority, the government has, over the past 22 months, implemented several reforms to streamline processes and create a favorable environment for investors.
Safety of Traders a Top Priority
Shri Sharma said that during the previous government’s tenure, Rajasthan was among the states with the highest crime rates in the country. As soon as his government took charge, serious efforts were made to ensure a safe environment for the citizens. As a result, crime rates have significantly declined over the past one and three-quarter years. The government has introduced strict laws against criminals, strengthened law enforcement, implemented transparent policies, and ensured prompt action, instilling a strong sense of security among the public.
The Chief Minister emphasized that ensuring the safety of traders is a key priority for the state government. By reinforcing the police administration and taking stringent measures against criminals, the government has created an atmosphere where traders can now conduct their businesses with complete peace of mind.
The event was attended by MP Smt. Manju Sharma, Jaipur Heritage Municipal Corporation Mayor Smt. Kusum Yadav, Shri Maidh Kshatriya Swarnakar Sabha President Shri Vijendra Joda, and a large number of representatives from the Goldsmith community and members of the public.
