Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal’s Promise: Goa Will Be Freed from Fear and Corruption

Goa, Oct 2025 : Anyone who travels through Goa can see the dismal state of its roads — broken lanes, pothole-filled streets, and muddy alleys during the rains. This, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders said, is the reality of 13 years of BJP rule. Every year, thousands of crores of rupees are sanctioned in the state budget, yet the roads remain in ruins. Where does all that money go?

To demand answers to this question, the Aam Aadmi Party launched a massive signature campaign. Out of Goa’s 3.5 lakh households, nearly 1 lakh families participated in the campaign, writing letters to the Chief Minister demanding immediate road repairs. On Monday, a truck filled with these letters was handed over to the Chief Minister’s office. AAP leaders said this was not an ordinary protest but the voice of every Goan who refuses to remain silent any longer.

Corruption runs so deep, they claimed, that even newly constructed roads start breaking down within days. Citizens have been misled by false promises and incomplete projects — but now, the people are waking up. Citing Punjab as an example, AAP said its government there has constructed over 18,000 kilometers of rural roads. Strict rules ensure that if a road deteriorates within five years, the contractor must repair it at his own cost — a model of accountable governance.

Goa is a wealthy state, yet many residents still rely on water tankers for drinking water. Despite having only two MLAs, AAP workers and citizens are pooling donations to establish mohalla clinics (neighborhood health centers). Meanwhile, despite having access to thousands of crores, the BJP government has failed to build hospitals, improve schools, or repair roads. “Because the BJP cares only about power and money, not about the people,” AAP leaders alleged.

The people of Goa, they added, are living in fear. Crime is rising, corruption is rampant, and those who question the government face intimidation or violence. Social activist Rama Kankankar was attacked simply for criticizing the government. When AAP workers were assaulted by BJP goons during the signature campaign, even more citizens took to the streets the next day — proof that Goans are no longer afraid.

In both North and South Goa, AAP volunteers are going door to door to spread awareness and share the truth with the public. Despite threats and pressure from the BJP, they continue to stand firmly with the people — their greatest strength.

Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party’s politics, the statement said, are based not on empty promises but on genuine work. “Our politics aims to end fear and empower the people,” said Kejriwal. The growing crowds at AAP’s rallies in Goa, he added, clearly show that the state is ready for change.
