Clear Vision, Rapid Decisions, and Responsible Implementation are the Three Pillars of Maharashtra’s Development – Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai, Oct 2025 : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that the implementation of all state projects rests on three important pillars: clear vision, rapid decision-making, and responsible execution. He made these remarks during an interview with Kunal Shah, CEO of Cred, at the “Global Fintech Fest 2025” held at the Jio World Centre.

CM Fadnavis said that several projects, such as the Mumbai Trans-Harbour Link, had been pending for decades, but the ‘Infrastructure War Room’ accelerated the decision-making process. Earlier, the first phase of Mumbai Metro took six years just for planning. However, the government reached the tendering stage for the 372 km metro network in just 11 months.

He added that Maharashtra aims to become a trillion-dollar economy by 2030. Through the ‘MMR Growth Hub Initiative’, the goal is to make the Mumbai Metropolitan Region a 1.5 trillion-dollar economy.

In Navi Mumbai, the ‘Third Mumbai’ city will be developed, including ‘Edu City’, ‘Innovation City’, ‘Sports City’, and ‘GCC City’. Edu City will host campuses of 10–12 foreign universities, providing education opportunities to 100,000 students, and these institutions will be of world-class standards, fostering the growth of the new city and economy.

CM Fadnavis stated that Innovation City will promote global-standard research and technology-based industries. N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, has taken the initiative to draft the project’s plan.

In the northern part of Mumbai, India’s largest port project is underway. With a 20-meter deep draft, this port will rank among the world’s top ten ports. Additionally, proposals include an offshore airport and a bullet train station, which will position Mumbai as a new economic hub.

Regarding technology, CM Fadnavis said that artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming all sectors of the state. The government has launched a ₹500 crore ‘AI Mission’ for agriculture, including an AI chatbot in Marathi, Hindi, and English to assist farmers. Technology is being used to develop sustainable agriculture practices to address the impact of climate change on farming.

At the event, CM Fadnavis urged new industries, researchers, and startup companies to collaborate and participate with the Maharashtra government.
