Fake Ghee Bust in Brahmpuri Under “Pure Food – Attack on Adulteration” Drive

Jaipur, Oct 2025 : Under the state government’s “Pure Food – Attack on Adulteration” campaign, a major action was carried out under the directives of Dr. T. Shubhamangala, Commissioner of Food Safety & Drug Control, Rajasthan, and guidance of Chief Medical & Health Officer, Jaipur First, Dr. Ravi Shekhawat.

A team of food safety officers raided the Agarwal & Company establishments located at Shankar Nagar and Ramgarh Mod in Brahmpuri, Jaipur, and recovered fake ghee labeled as Saras and Krishna brands. Initial suspicion led to confirmation from representatives of both companies.

Saras Ghee representative Mr. Gajendra Singh arrived at the site and confirmed the product was fake. He filed a written application at Brahmpuri Police Station for FIR registration. Samples of Saras Ghee were formally collected under the FSS Act. The team seized 40 cartons of 200 ml, 3 cartons of 1 liter, and 6 cartons of 500 ml of counterfeit desi ghee.

Krishna Ghee representative Kamal Tank confirmed via WhatsApp that the products were fake. Samples were collected on site, and the remaining stock was seized due to brand imitation.

The operation continued until 1 AM on Saturday. The team included Vinod Kumar Sharma, Narendra Sharma, Virendra Kumar Singh, Pawan Gupta, Vishal Mittal, and Naresh Kumar Chejara. All samples have been sent to the laboratory for testing. Further legal action will follow once the reports are received.

Dr. Ravi Shekhawat, Chief Medical & Health Officer, Jaipur First, stated that a special strategy is being implemented to prevent adulteration. Identification of such traders and strict action against them will continue to ensure the public receives pure and safe food products.
