Abhishek Bachchan Wins First Filmfare Award in 25 Years, Dedicates Emotional Speech to Parents and Family

Mumbai, Oct 2025 : Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan was visibly emotional as he clinched his first-ever Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his remarkable performance in “I Want to Talk”. The recognition marked a milestone in Abhishek’s illustrious career spanning over 25 years, earning him a long-awaited moment of glory.

As his name was announced, the auditorium erupted in cheers and applause. Abhishek took to the stage, joined by his family, who watched proudly from the audience. His mother, veteran actress and Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan, was seen with tears in her eyes as her son began his heartfelt acceptance speech.

Expressing his gratitude, Abhishek began by dedicating the award to his mother. “To my mom, who has never been very demonstrative of her desires but has quietly prayed that one day her son will get to give this speech — thank you for your love, talent, and belief,” he said, his voice trembling with emotion.

Turning to his wife and daughter, Abhishek continued, “I want to thank Aishwarya and Aradhya for allowing me to step out and chase my dreams. I hope after winning this, they understand the sacrifices they’ve made for me to stand here today.”

Reflecting on his long journey in the film industry, Abhishek shared, “This year marks 25 years since I started working in cinema. I don’t even remember how many times I’ve rehearsed a speech for this award. To finally receive it in front of my family makes it even more special.”

With humility and grace, he added, “Winning this has been my dream, and today I feel truly grateful. I want to thank the team of ‘I Want to Talk’ and our director Shoojit Sircar. To all the filmmakers who have given me opportunities over the past 25 years — thank you for believing in me. It hasn’t been easy, but it has definitely been worth it.”

Abhishek also took a moment to inspire the younger generation of actors. “To all the young artists out there — this is what 25 years of hard work, patience, and perseverance can get you. Chase your dreams, no matter what obstacles come your way,” he said, receiving loud applause from the crowd.

Becoming emotional once again, Abhishek concluded his speech with a heartfelt tribute to his father and daughter. “This film is about a father and a daughter, so I dedicate this award to my hero, my father, and my other hero, my daughter,” he said with a smile. “I was wondering what to gift my father on his birthday — I think this will make him very happy. I just hope this is the beginning of good things.”

As Abhishek walked off the stage, the audience gave him a standing ovation, celebrating not just his win, but his perseverance, humility, and heartfelt sincerity.
