CM Revanth Reddy Urges Maoists to Surrender and Join Nation-Building Efforts
Hyderabad, Oct 2025 : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday made a heartfelt appeal to Maoists to lay down arms, abandon violence, and join the national mainstream, calling upon them to participate in the reconstruction and development of Telangana.
Speaking at the Police Flag Day Parade in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister paid glowing tributes to the police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. He emphasized that peace and development are possible only when all sections of society work together, rejecting violence and extremism.

“I appeal to all Maoist leaders and activists who are still active to surrender before the police and return to mainstream life. Let them become partners in nation-building by shedding the Naxal ideology,” he said, urging them to use their strength and resolve for constructive purposes rather than destruction.
Revanth Reddy lauded the Telangana Police for their exemplary courage, professionalism, and success in combating the Naxal menace. He said the state, once affected by Maoist and terrorist violence, is now among the most peaceful and progressive due to the unwavering dedication of its police force.
“The indomitable spirit of the Telangana Police has ensured a steady decline in terror and extremist activities. The entire nation recognizes their contribution,” he said.
Citing the India Justice Report 2025, the Chief Minister said the Telangana Police have been ranked number one in the country for adopting innovative technologies and implementing people-friendly policing policies. “Our police have set an example for others by tirelessly working to prevent terrorism, extremism, communal tension, white-collar crimes, cybercrimes, drug trafficking, and other anti-social activities,” he stated.
Revanth Reddy also acknowledged the emerging challenges of cybercrime, digital fraud, online exploitation, and human trafficking, stressing that these require continuous upgradation in policing methods. “It is a matter of pride that Telangana is at the forefront in tackling cyber threats through advanced technology and well-trained personnel,” he said.
He highlighted the establishment of the Cyber Security Bureau, headed by a DGP-rank officer, as a major step in this direction. “This bureau has become one of the most efficient in the country and is leading inter-state operations to curb cybercrime. The entire nation is saluting the Telangana Police for their efforts,” he remarked.
The Chief Minister also praised the performance of the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE), a special task force formed to completely eradicate the drug menace from the state. “The government is determined to make Telangana drug-free. To achieve this, we have given the police full freedom and wide powers to act against drug networks,” he said.
Paying homage to police martyrs, Revanth Reddy said 191 police personnel across India, including six from Telangana, lost their lives this year in the line of duty. “Their bravery and sacrifice will forever inspire the state,” he said.
He remembered Greyhounds commandos T. Sandeep, V. Sridhar, and N. Pawan Kalyan, who died fighting anti-social elements, and Assistant Commandant Banothu Jawaharlal and Nalgonda Constable B. Saidu, who laid down their lives in the line of duty. The Chief Minister also expressed grief over the recent death of Constable Empalli Pramod Kumar in Nizamabad.
Revanth Reddy assured that the government would stand firmly with the families of the martyrs. He announced an ex gratia of ₹1 crore for Pramod Kumar’s family, continuation of his last drawn salary till retirement, a government job for one family member, and a 300-square-yard house site.
Additionally, the constable’s family will receive ₹16 lakh from the Police Security Welfare Fund and ₹8 lakh from the Police Welfare Fund. “No amount of compensation can equal their loss, but the government will ensure their families live with dignity,” he said.
The Chief Minister concluded his address by reaffirming his government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of police personnel and the safety of the people. “Telangana stands as a symbol of peace, progress, and security because of our police force. Let us all work together to preserve these values and build a state free from fear, violence, and drugs,” he said.
