New Delhi, Oct 2025 : India’s first individual Olympic gold medallist, Abhinav Bindra, has been selected as one of the torchbearers for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games scheduled to be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, from February 6 to 22.
This recognition adds another milestone to Bindra’s distinguished journey as a sportsperson and highlights his standing as one of the most respected voices in global sport. Bindra, who created history by winning the gold medal in the 10m air rifle event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, has long been celebrated for his perseverance, dedication, and excellence.
