Food and Drug Administration Seizes 13,368 kg of Milk Adulteration Chemicals in Kada (T. Ashti) Police Operation
Beed : The Food and Drug Administration Department, in collaboration with the police, conducted a raid on a godown producing adulterated milk in Kada (Ashti). During the operation, 13,368 kg of chemical substances used for milk adulteration were seized, valued at Rs 11,85,068.
This action was taken under the guidance of Guardian Minister Dhananjay Munde, Divisional Commissioner of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Dilip Gawde, and Divisional Commissioner of Nashik Division Dr. Praveen Gedam. The operation was implemented by the order of Collector Avinash Pathak. A confidential campaign was conducted over the past three days, targeting Beed, Ahmednagar, and Dharashiv, culminating in the early hours of today.
The adulterated milk was being manufactured in a paper shed near a shop called Saidutt Enterprises on the Beed-Ahmednagar National Highway. During the raid, 13,368 kg of adulterants were seized. One suspect, Ambadas Pandurang Chaudhary, was detained in connection with the operation.
Based on confidential information, the Food and Civil Supplies and Police Administration conducted the raid early Sunday morning. Inspection of the godown revealed a large stock of chemicals used in the manufacture of adulterated milk, including 6,942 kg of potassium hydroxide flakes, caustic potassium flakes, trisodium phosphate, and caustic soda flakes, worth Rs 6,87,672.
The godown has been sealed pending further orders.
