Five acres of land identified; a major gift for Jashpur and surrounding regions
Raipur, Nov 2025 : Five acres of land identified; a major gift for Jashpur and nearby regions.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the health services of Jashpur district are continuously reaching new heights. Now, in the Farsabahar region, a Sathya Sai Maternity and Child Hospital along with a state-of-the-art Pediatric Cardiac Treatment Hospital is being established. This hospital will be set up by the country’s renowned social service organization, the Sathya Sai Trust.
For the hospital, the district administration has identified five acres of land. Until the construction of the permanent building is completed, the Trust will temporarily operate the hospital from the Farsabahar Community Health Centre (CHC). Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced this important initiative during the Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Camp held in Farsabahar.
The Chief Minister said that the Sathya Sai Hospital in Raipur is known across the country for its selfless service, where the treatment of heart diseases in children is provided completely free of cost—there isn’t even a cash counter in the hospital. So far, more than 40,000 children have been treated there free of charge. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself is impressed by the hospital’s spirit of service and will soon visit it for inspection.
The Chief Minister said that, inspired by the Prime Minister, he had requested the Trust to expand its health services in a tribal-dominated district like Jashpur, after which the Trust decided to establish the hospital in Farsabahar. CM Sai said that this hospital is nothing less than a blessing for the district. Once it begins operating, children of Jashpur as well as those from nearby border areas of Odisha and Jharkhand will receive free and high-quality healthcare services.
Rapid expansion of health services in the district
Since Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai assumed office in December 2023, historic improvements have taken place in the health sector of Jashpur district—
- Kunkuri Medical College: Announced in the Chief Minister’s first budget, fulfilling a long-pending dream of the district. In the first phase, ₹32 crore approved for a 220-bed hospital, 90 posts sanctioned, land identified in Charaidand, and temporary operations underway from Raja Devsharan District Hospital.
- Jagdev Ram Uraon Memorial Hospital, Jashpurnagar: Construction progressing at a cost of ₹35 crore; CT scan and modern emergency facilities will be available.
- Ginabahar Mother-Child Hospital (MCH): A high-level centre under construction for pregnant mothers and newborns.
- Nursing and Physiotherapy College: A major step towards self-reliance in health education.
- Kunkuri Dialysis Centre: Free services for kidney patients.
- Upgrades to health infrastructure: Six sub-health centres upgraded to primary health centres; number of ambulances increased; appointment of medical staff has improved service outreach.
Through Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s sensitive initiative, it is clear that the state government is consistently working to make Jashpur a model district for health services in the state. With the establishment of the Sathya Sai Trust’s hospital, world-class, free, and service-oriented medical facilities will now become accessible even in the tribal region.
