On the Auspicious Occasion of Folk Festival Igas, Artists Meet Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami

On the auspicious occasion of Uttarakhand’s traditional folk festival Igas, prominent film and comedy artists from across the country, who arrived in Dehradun for the ongoing cultural events, paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today.

As part of the series of special cultural programs being organized to mark 25 years of Uttarakhand’s statehood, various art festivals are being held. Popular comedians and film personalities from across India have come to the state capital to participate in these celebrations. During their meeting, Chief Minister Dhami welcomed and honored the artists.

The Chief Minister said the state government is continuously working to give new dimensions to Uttarakhand’s rich cultural identity, preserve local traditions, and showcase Devbhoomi’s innovation and tourism potential at the national level. The participation of renowned artists in these cultural events inspires the younger generation and helps bring global recognition to the state’s art and culture.

He said that the folk festival Igas is a symbol of Uttarakhand’s faith, tradition, and collective celebration. Festivals like these further strengthen the cultural roots of the state. He also appreciated the contribution of artists who, through the medium of comedy and performance, spread positivity, harmony, and enthusiasm in society.

During the meeting, well-known artists from the comedy world—including Krishna Abhishek, Hemant Pandey, Himani Shivpuri, and many others—were present. They engaged in a cultural exchange with the Chief Minister and praised the natural beauty and cultural vibrance of Uttarakhand. The artists said they felt deeply inspired by the culture, nature, and enthusiasm of the people of the state.
