Achieve recognition for Madhya Pradesh as a Green State in the country : Minister Shri Vijayvargiya
Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya emphasized the need to accelerate the recruitment process for cadre-wise vacant posts in urban bodies to enhance services for citizens. He highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s rich forest resources and urged the department to undertake significant initiatives to establish the state as a green leader by working towards a pollution-free environment. Shri Vijayvargiya made these remarks while reviewing departmental work at the Mantralaya in Bhopal today. Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing Smt. Pratima Bagri was also present during the meeting, where the progress of the department’s Sankalp Patra was thoroughly reviewed.
In the meeting, Minister Shri Vijayvargiya directed that metropolitan services should be strengthened in Bhopal and Indore. Works should be done through Metropolitan Authority to boost basic facilities in the towns around these cities. In the meeting, the proposal to form a separate directorate for the expansion and modernization of fire services was discussed. About Rs 300 crore has been received from the Central Government for modernization of fire service. Also, the state’s share is Rs 100 crore. Minister of State Smt. Pratima Bagri said that during the incident of fire in rural areas, the services of such vehicles should be taken, which can easily reach the fields and rural areas. Minister Shri Vijayvargiya directed to allocate dedicated laundry area for the Rajak community in urban areas. He said that this work should be started by identifying land in 5 metropolitan cities.
Smart City Mission
It was told in the meeting that development works are being done in Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, Sagar, Satna and Ujjain with an investment of Rs 10 thousand crore. Out of this, works worth Rs 5 thousand 707 crore have been completed. Under the Electric Vehicle Promotion Policy, tenders have been issued for 552 e-buses in 6 cities. 70 electric buses are being operated in Indore. Work orders have been issued in 151 water supply projects under the department’s Amrut 2.0 scheme. The number of Deendayal Antyodaya Kitchen Centres run by urban bodies has now increased to 191. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 7 lakh 92 thousand houses have been completed in the state.
Women Public Representatives Conference
Principal Secretary Shri Neeraj Mandloi informed that on August 12, a conference of women public representatives of urban bodies and Rakshabandhan programme will be organized in Ravindra Bhavan, Bhopal under the chief hospitality of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. About 3 thousand women public representatives are expected to attend the conference. Self-help group stalls will be set up in the conference. Representatives will be apprised about welfare schemes. Also, TDR portal will be launched by Town and Country Planning. Commissioner Urban Administration Shri Bharat Yadav informed that this year a programme has been prepared to plant one crore 75 lakh saplings in all the urban areas of the state. The plantation programme will continue till September 15.
Discussion on Bhopal city roads
A discussion about the roads of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation was held in the meeting. Minister Shri Vijayvargiya said that the repair work of the capital’s roads should be undertaken on priority. Bhopal Municipal Corporation has roads of 2020 kilometers length.
