Work Positively for Establishing the Dry Port at Ranjani – Fisheries & Ports Minister Nitesh Rane

Mumbai, Nov 2025 : The public representatives, industrialists, farmers, and citizens of Ranjani in Kavathe Mahankal taluka of Sangli district have been demanding the establishment of a dry port in the area. This demand is positive, and it will be pursued at the Central Government level, said Fisheries and Ports Minister Nitesh Rane.

A meeting regarding the demand for setting up a dry port at Ranjani was held under the chairmanship of Minister Nitesh Rane. P. Pradeep Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of the Maharashtra Maritime Board, was present at the meeting. MLA Gopichand Padalkar and Sangli District Collector Ashok Kakade participated through video conferencing.

Minister Rane said that establishing a dry port at Ranjani would accelerate the industrial development of the region. He urged everyone to work positively toward making the dry port a reality. He also directed the concerned government departments to fulfill their responsibilities efficiently. The state government will follow up with the Central Government regarding the dry port, and a regular review of the progress will be conducted, he added.
