Chief Minister Inaugurates Aircraft Operation Services from the State Hangar

Passenger inconvenience during VVIP movement at the airport terminal will now be eliminated

Raipur, Nov 2025 : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today inaugurated the regular operation of the State Hangar located near Mana Camp within the Swami Vivekananda Airport premises. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister departed for his Gujarat visit from this very hangar.

This initiative will put an end to the inconvenience faced by regular passengers at the airport’s passenger terminal during VVIP movements. With the commencement of the State Hangar’s operations, the arrangements for VVIP arrivals and departures by special aircraft in the state will now become more streamlined and organized.

It is noteworthy that the State Hangar was constructed in 2012 by the Public Works Department (PWD) at a cost of approximately ₹6.50 crore. However, the various approvals required for its operation from the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) and BCAS (Bureau of Civil Aviation Security) were obtained recently on 31 October 2025. Following these approvals, the hangar has now been opened for regular operations.

The newly constructed State Hangar has been connected to the airport runway via Taxiway ‘E’, enabling smoother VVIP movement without the need for separate arrangements within the main airport premises.

The hangar will also be used for the maintenance of state-owned aircraft and helicopters. As a result, the state government will no longer need to rely on the rented hangar located within the airport premises.

On this occasion, MLA Motilal Sahu, Mana Camp Nagar Panchayat President Sanjay Yadav, Chief Minister’s Secretary Rahul Bhagat, Chief Minister’s Deputy Secretary Suraj Sahu, along with other public representatives and senior officials, were present.
