New Delhi on High Alert After Deadly Car Explosion Near Red Fort Metro Station

New Delhi, Nov 2025 : A powerful explosion near Gate Number 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening triggered chaos and panic in one of the most sensitive zones of the national capital. The blast occurred inside a parked car and was so intense that flames rapidly spread to multiple nearby vehicles. Five people were killed, and several others were injured. All the injured were rushed to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital, where emergency teams were deployed.

According to the Delhi Fire Department, a distress call was received at 6:55 pm reporting an explosion and a rapidly spreading fire. In response, seven fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the site. Firefighters battled the blaze and managed to bring the situation under control, preventing further damage to the nearby metro station entrance and adjacent shops.

Eyewitnesses described scenes of terror as the explosion shattered window panes of nearby establishments and sent people running for safety. Preliminary investigations indicate that the explosion originated from a single parked car, which then set adjacent vehicles ablaze. The blast occurred just hours after the Jammu and Kashmir police busted a terror module linked to Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH), arresting seven individuals and recovering a cache of weapons, ammunition, and IED-making materials. While authorities have not confirmed any link between the two events, investigators are exploring all possibilities.
