Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Performs Bhoomi Poojan for Ramkal Path Project in Nashik

Nashik, Nov 2025 : Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis performed the bhoomi poojan (groundbreaking ceremony) for the Ramkal Path Project in the Ramkund area of Nashik. The project, being developed under the Central Government’s Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment scheme, will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹99.14 crore through the Ministry of Tourism.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Kumbh Mela Minister Girish Mahajan, School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse, Sports Minister Adv. Manikrao Kokate, MLAs Adv. Rahul Dhikle, Dilip Bankar, Devyani Pharande, and Seema Hire, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Praveen Gedam, Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, Municipal Commissioner Manisha Khatri, District Collector Ayush Prasad, Additional Kumbh Mela Commissioner Kalpana Nair, and Assistant District Collector Arpita Thube were present at the event.

Chief Minister Fadnavis reviewed the concept plan and architectural model of the project. The Ramkal Path initiative aims to revitalize and conserve key structures along the Ramkund route, restore the heritage facades, and upgrade tourism-related infrastructure. The project will enhance the experience of pilgrims and visitors while preserving the spiritual, cultural, and historical significance of important sites such as Ramkund, Sita Gufa, Kalaram Temple, Ram-Lakshman Gufa, and other nearby temples.

The project is part of the state government’s large-scale development plan to showcase Nashik’s rich cultural heritage ahead of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027. With central assistance, the initiative aims to create a spiritually enriching and memorable experience for devotees visiting the sacred Godavari riverfront from across India.

After the bhoomi poojan, Chief Minister Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Shinde visited the Kalaram Temple and offered prayers. The temple trustees felicitated the dignitaries on this occasion.
