Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Inaugurates Over 70 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs

New Delhi, Nov 2025 : In a significant step towards providing affordable, accessible and high-quality healthcare services to the citizens of Delhi, Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta today inaugurated more than 70 ‘Ayushman Arogya Mandirs’, both virtually and in person from the MCW Centre (Maternity and Child Welfare Centre) located in Shakti Nagar. The Chief Minister described this initiative as a transformative step towards strengthening and modernising Delhi’s primary healthcare system.
These Ayushman Arogya Mandirs will offer a wide range of facilities at the local level, including regular health check-ups, free essential and common medicines, maternal and child healthcare services, necessary immunisation, disease prevention and health-promotion counselling, as well as online tele-consultation with specialist doctors all under one roof.

The special event was attended by Model Town MLA Ashok Goel along with several local representatives and dignitaries. During the programme, the Chief Minister inspected all the facilities available at the newly established Ayushman Arogya Mandir. She reviewed arrangements across each centre and held detailed discussions with healthcare workers regarding the services, equipment and operations. The 70+ new centres have been set up across almost all major regions of the city, including North, Central, North-West, Shahdara, West, New Delhi, South-West, East, South-East, South and North-East Delhi.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government aims to ensure that every citizen receives better, affordable and free healthcare services without obstacles. She added that schemes such as Ayushman Bharat, Jan Aushadhi Kendras, Vaya Vandana Yojana and now Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are collectively equipping Delhi with modern health infrastructure.

She stated that the government is committed to ensuring timely treatment, affordable medicines and robust primary healthcare facilities in every neighbourhood. Referring to the erstwhile Mohalla Clinic model, she said that neither doctors nor medicines nor adequate staff were available there. In contrast, Arogya Mandirs function as true primary health centres, offering regular access to essential services such as dressings, medicines, immunisation, family planning and more.

The Chief Minister informed that nearly 250 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs have already been established across Delhi. The target is to set up more than 1,000 such centres. Considering the increasing pressure on large hospitals, these neighbourhood-level health facilities have become essential. The government aims to establish 15 such centres in each Assembly constituency. She added that through the expansion of the Ayushman Yojana, Jan Aushadhi Kendras and new health services, Delhi is being developed not only as a national hub but as an emerging global medical hub.

She further stated that in the last 8 – 10 months, the government has been working with full commitment, round the clock, to ensure that every citizen receives timely and essential healthcare services. The Chief Minister appealed to the public to cooperate in the overall development of their areas so that the vision presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Delhi can be realised, and the capital can be transformed into a strong, healthy and modern city.
